With a population of around 5000, the town has a diverse range of property and architecture including affordable Victorian homes, imposing Georgian residences and a wealth of flats/apartments some with that elusive sea view! Sport, leisure and recreation form a common theme in the town which is home to the East Devon Golf Course, and has facilities for tennis, cycling, cricket, football, bowls, croquet and rambling.

Transport

The town has good bus links to Exeter, Exmouth, Sidmouth and beyond. The nearest rail link is at Exmouth providing a 1/2 hourly direct service to Exeter, and onward by mainline trains to the Midlands and London.

Education

Nursery and Pre-school centres are available in town, and Primary education is provided by the popular St Peters School. Secondary schooling is at Exmouth Community College or privately at a number of sites in Exeter. Exeter has both a College and University to provide Higher education.
