Living in Sidmouth

Sidmouth is a prosperous Regency seaside town, which still enjoys a most traditional and unspoilt High Street with an interesting mixture of quality shops. The town has an excellent range of amenities including a large supermarket, cinema, theatre, library and modern health centre.

Transport

There are good road connections to the local area and the Cathedral City of Exeter which has main line railway stations connecting Penzance and Plymouth with Bristol, London, Birmingham and the remainder of the country. The M5 motorway commences at Exeter thus providing a fast motorway link out of the West Country. It is also very easy to access the A303 which in turn connects to the M3. There are two International Airports in the region; one situated on the outskirts of Exeter and another within easy reach at Bristol.

Education

Sidmouth enjoys a wide range of schools including three that provide primary education. At comprehensive level there is Sidmouth College which has a fine reputation. Those who wish to educate their children privately may choose St Johns School in Broadway.

Sidmouth is in the catchment area for Colyton Grammar School which is considered one of the top schools in the country.
